Just a few well known Christians in the science community:
Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-1543 Polish Astronomer)
mathematically based system of planets going around the sun;
Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
Mathematician, scientist and philosopher;
Seeked to bring knowledge together in one system of thought by asking what could be known if all else were doubted - suggesting the famous "I think therefore I am". Actually, it is often forgotten that the next step for Descartes was to establish the near certainty of the existence of God - for only if God both exists and would not want us to be deceived by our experiences - can we trust our senses and logical thought processes. God is, therefore, central to his whole philosophy.
Sir Francis Bacon (1561-1627 philosopher)
scientific method of inquiry based on experimentation and inductive reasoning;
"It is true, that a little philosophy inclineth man’s mind to atheism, but depth in philosophy bringeth men's minds about to religion; for while the mind of man looketh upon second causes scattered, it may sometimes rest in them, and go no further; but when it beholdeth the chain of them confederate, and linked together, it must needs fly to Providence and Deity."
Galileo Galilei (1564-1642 Italian Physicist)
theoretical work, which was on dynamic;
"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."
Johannes Kepler (1571-1630 German Astronomer)
Early work on light, laws of planetary motion about the sun, close to reaching the Newtonian concept of universal gravity;
"Since we astronomers are priests of the highest God in regard to the book of nature, it befits us to be thoughtful, not of the glory of our minds, but rather, above all else, of the glory of God."
Blaise Pascal (1623-1662 French Mathemetician)
"There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus Christ. But by Jesus Christ and in Jesus Christ, we prove God and teach doctrine and morals. Jesus Christ, then, is the true God of men."
Newton Isaac: (1642-1727 English Mathemetician)
The solar system itself could not have been produced by blind chance or fortuitous causes but only by a cause "very well skilled in mechanics and geometry."; In Principia he stated, "The most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion on an intelligent and powerful Being."
Michael Faraday (1791-1869 English Chemist)
electricity and magnetism revolutionized physics;
"Since peace is alone in the gift of God; and since it is He who gives it, why should we be afraid? His unspeakable gift in His beloved Son is the ground of no doubtful hope."
Lord William Thomas Kelvin (1824-1907 British Physicist)
"I believe that the more thoroughly science is studied, the further does it take us from anything comparable to atheism."
Robert Boyle (1791-1867 Scientist)
Boyle's Law" for gases, and also wrote an important work on chemistry
Max Planck (1858-1947 Physicist)
quantum theory & understanding of the atomic and sub-atomic worlds
